The field trip to the Ice Caves was a success. Eleven happy campers trekked to the caves and we'll all wait with baited breath for the slide show. For those that went, please submit your images ASAP for Bruce to whip into shape for next meeting. |

Greetings Everyone,
Bob Davis will be
giving a presentation on HDR at the November 2nd meeting. Bob will
explain how this interesting photo enhancement works. Frank
Loomer will be going over the judging results from the bumper crop of
photo competition entries. If you submitted an entry to the competition,
could you please put them on a memory stick and bring it to the
meeting so they can be uploaded onto the web site. Bruce Tenant
will be presenting two slide shows. One on the great photo weekend and
the other on the field trip both of which were held at Terry Adair's
Lodge and Cabins in the wilds of the Kingston area. The photo weekend's
assignment was on Selective Focus. We will see a few shots of Stew and
the other cute bunny models which Terry keeps at the lodge. Next
competition entry due: Selective Focus – where the main subject is selectively
focused while much or most of the rest of the image is out of focus.
Up to 2 prints, unmatted.
8x12 or 8x10
Digital editing restricted to what you might do in darkroom
Complete entry form, put your info on back of prints, including up / down arrow for images where up/down may be ambiguous.

Our next KV Camera Club field trip is scheduled for Sunday, October 16th at 10:30 AM @ Adair's Lodge and Cabins on the Kingston peninsula. Lunch will be available at Adairs for $8.00, but only for those folks that let us know in advance. If you will be attending, please advise Bruce Tennant (our field trip coordinator). Just a quick reminder that the first competition of the year is an "Open" competition, meaning that there is no specific theme other than "Photographer’s Choice” This is an “easy” one. Submit what you think are your favorite bests, but remember only 2 entries per competition. Of course, you'll want to save your themed “bests” which might fit some of the specific categories in upcoming competitions (see resources section or club brochure for upcoming competitions). So what will you choose for this one ? It might be color, b&w, special effects, hdr, or just a photo you really like! Recall that all submissions are in the form of print. Print sizes must conform to 8x10 or 8x12 and can contain no matting/borders/text, etc ... If you have any specific questions on submissions, please contact Frank Loomer. Thanks All |
